As the Quality Control & Field Development Specialist, you will ensure the highest standards of installation, maintenance, and repair across FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) and HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) networks. This role is critical in driving quality assurance, technician development, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network reliability and customer satisfaction. What You Will Do
In all of your duties, you will have a relentless, obsessive, yet disciplined approach to manage all details to perfection and deliver desired results.
- Conduct field inspections and audits of FTTH/HFC installations, repairs, and maintenance to ensure compliance with C Spire standards, industry regulations, and safety requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis on service issues, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions to improve performance and reliability.
- Verify signal levels, fiber splicing quality, RF performance, drop routing, grounding, bonding, and pole attachments meet established specifications.
- Document and report non-compliance issues, track resolution progress, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, NESC (National Electrical Safety Code), NEC, and company safety guidelines in partnership with Safety leadership.
- Develop and deliver hands-on training programs for new and existing field technicians covering FTTH/HFC installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices.
- Implement on-the-job training (OJT) and mentorship programs to improve technician performance, efficiency, and technical capability.
- Train field teams on the proper use of fiber splicing tools, RF meters, fusion splicers, and coaxial testing equipment.
- Provide ongoing refresher training and continuous learning opportunities to keep technicians current with evolving technologies and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Network Operations, and Field Operations teams to refine installation procedures and improve service delivery processes.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to reduce service call rates, improve first-time installation success, and increase operational efficiency.
- Partner with Training and Development teams to create training manuals, video tutorials, and digital learning materials.
- Work with vendors and manufacturers to introduce new technologies and best practices into field operations.
- Coach field technicians on delivering a seamless, customer-focused service experience, including communication, troubleshooting, and equipment education.
- Monitor and improve customer satisfaction metrics including Net Promoter Score (NPS), repeat service calls, and first-call resolution rates.

In Addition To That, We Require
- 5 years of experience in FTTH, HFC, or telecommunications field operations.
- Strong expertise in fiber optics, RF networks, DOCSIS, GPON, Ethernet, and coaxial systems.
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, RF signal analysis, and PON diagnostics.
- Familiarity with aerial and underground construction practices including pole climbing, conduit installation, and structured cabling.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools, troubleshooting software, and handheld test equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to train and mentor field technicians.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Ability to travel to field locations and work in varying environmental conditions.
- Experience leading teams of field technicians.
- Experience designing and delivering technical training programs.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification.
- FOA CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) or equivalent certification.
- NCTI, SCTE, or BICSI certifications.
