General Function

To gather logistics information and coordinate logistics with C-SPAN and hired crews for Campaign 2026 event coverage and special programming.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and identifies technical needs for C-SPAN coverage of House, Senate, gubernatorial and presidential races, serving as the primary liaison with event sponsors and hired crews.
  • Ensures all logistical information is accurately gathered and entered into Dalet in a timely manner and communicated with field personnel.
  • Serves as the Political Unit's primary point of contact with C-SPAN's Ingest and Transmission employees for all LIVE and taped productions.
  • Keeps a constant eye on CNN Newsource's calendar – and a constant conversation going with their assignment editors – to identify potential coverage opportunities.
  • Maintains constant contact with Assignment Desk editors and Master Control leads regarding daily pool notes/coverage, internal technical resource allocation, and other workflow matters.
  • Efficiently and effectively coordinates needed remote and feed elements of studio and field productions for special productions as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Background/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Radio-TV-Film, Political Science or Journalism.
  • Minimum three years related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of and interest in politics, campaigns and behind-the-scenes editorial processes.
  • Knowledge of a newsroom system, especially Dalet, a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently but also take direction.
  • Ability to be creative and innovative.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including some nights and weekends.
