Duties
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, weed-eating, pulling weeds, and planting to keep outdoor spaces vibrant and healthy
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery, including trimmers, blowers, and sprayers, safely and efficiently
- Support landscape installation projects by preparing soil, laying sod, planting trees and shrubs, and installing hardscape features like patios or walkways
- Perform lawn care routines, including aeration, fertilization, watering, and snow plowing, during seasonal changes
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or blockages and performing routine repairs as needed
- Conduct general site cleanup to ensure safety standards are met, and project areas are tidy
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge for operating various landscaping equipment and small machinery confidently
- Experience with lawn care practices, including mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and irrigation system maintenance
- Strong understanding of landscape maintenance techniques such as pruning, planting, and soil preparation
- Familiarity with landscaping concepts, including hardscape installation and horticulture principles
- Ability to use hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruners) and power tools (trimmers, blowers) safely and effectively
- Knowledge of tree care practices, including trimming, planting, and health assessment
- Basic construction skills for assisting with hardscape projects like patios or retaining walls
