Demand Planning Intern

Position Overview Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our stores and our offices — every employee of C&S/SpartanNash and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities. As an Intern you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the wholesale grocery industry, contribute to meaningful projects, and better understand what goes into running one of the largest privately held companies in the US. • Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department.
• Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
• Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas and insights.
• Aid in further enhancing department tools, templates and methodologies
• Gain exposure and knowledge on department functionalities
• Develop positive professional relationships across departments
• Complete special projects as assigned by your manager
• Complete an end-of-internship presentation to showcase the completion of learning objectives
• Collect, review, cleanse, and interpret data on customer buying habits
• Utilize data to create forecasts of demand from customers
• Research past trends to aid in future efforts
• Work with internal stakeholders and customers to implement findings from research

We’re searching for interns that are:

• Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university
• Will have completed their Sophomore year by the start of the internship.
• In good academic standing, with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0
• Currently majoring in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science or Operations Management
• Proficient with Google’s suite of products preferred
• Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively
• Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Bring curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn and contribute
