Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Commercial HVAC Technician. The Senior Commercial HVAC Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC systems, performing routine and preventive maintenance, and handling installations and repairs with precision. The role includes working with advanced control systems, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and optimizing system performance to meet client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems (RTUs, Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, etc.)
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure system efficiency and longevity
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues
- Install new HVAC systems and retrofit existing systems
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and company standards
- Mentor and guide junior technicians or apprentices
- Communicate with clients to explain issues, solutions, and maintenance plans
- Complete service reports, work orders, and documentation accurately
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and facility managers as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (HVAC certification or trade school preferred)
- 5–10 years of commercial HVAC experience
- EPA Universal Certification (required)
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and refrigeration cycles
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Work Environment
- Commercial buildings (offices, hospitals, schools, industrial facilities) located in NYC and the surrounding boroughs
- May require working in confined spaces, rooftops, or extreme weather conditions
- On-call or overtime may be required
