Furniture Advisor & Customer Service Rep — C & S Refinishing & Upholstery
Knoxville, TN (4687 Old Broadway St) Full-Time $30/hr room to grow
For more than 50 years, C & S has been Knoxville's trusted name in fine furniture restoration, refinishing, and upholstery — a family-owned shop that treats every piece like an heirloom.
We're hiring a friendly, organized people-person to be the face of our front office and showroom. This is a role you can grow in — for the right person, it's a foot in the door to lead and management opportunities as we grow our team.
What you'll do
- Welcome customers in the showroom, by phone, and by email, and help them figure out what their furniture needs
- Guide them through fabric, finish, and restoration options, and put together quotes
- Schedule color consultations, pickups, and deliveries around customers' schedules
- Follow up after projects to make sure folks are thrilled — and ask happy customers for reviews
- Take deposits and payments, order fabric and materials, and keep projects on track with our shop team
- Keep the front office, desk, and showroom tidy and welcoming — and help lift and move furniture when needed
This is a hands-on role. Some days you're advising a customer on a $4,000 restoration; some days you're tidying the fabric sample table and moving a chair. We're looking for someone who takes pride in both.
You might be a great fit if you've worked in
Furniture, mattress, paint, flooring, lighting, or home-decor retail — or any customer service / front-desk role where you scheduled work and took great care of people. Furniture knowledge is a plus, but if you love people and learn fast, we'll teach you the craft.

- Warm, professional, and genuinely enjoy helping people
- Organized and reliable, comfortable juggling several customers and projects at once
- Basic computer skills (email, scheduling)
- Able to lift and move furniture within reason
- A real interest in furniture, design, and craftsmanship — and in growing with us
