Business Systems / ERP Specialist – Epicor (Manufacturing)

C&S Machine Products is seeking a Software Specialist to play a key role in improving and optimizing our business processes through optimizing our ERP system and smart, scalable software solutions. This role is ideal for a technically strong, business-minded professional who enjoys transforming ideas into practical solutions and working cross-functionally within a manufacturing environment to drive continuous improvement. The Software Specialist will partner closely with all internal teams including engineering, programming, machine operators, finance, and leadership teams to improve processes, reporting, and system effectiveness. This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys translating operational needs into practical, scalable system improvements.

As a Software Specialist, you will:

• Act as a subject-matter expert for our ERP system (Epicor), driving optimization and effective use across the organization
• Configure, enhance, and maintain ERP functionality to support manufacturing, inventory, costing, scheduling, and financial processes
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify business process needs and translate them into effective software solutions
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues with a focus on continuous improvement
• Create, maintain, and communicate project plans related to system enhancements and process improvements across teams
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to support decision-making (Power BI experience is a plus)
• Assist in evaluating, selecting, and implementing software tools that integrate with or support the ERP system
• Track and manage software licenses, contracts, and related costs
• Identify and communicate software-related cost-saving opportunities
• Document system processes, changes, and best practices to support training and consistency
• Stay current on ERP capabilities, manufacturing systems trends, and best practices
• Take initiative, work independently, and proactively identify opportunities to prevent problems before they occur

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in computer software development or support
• Strong knowledge of ERP software (Epicor experience is a plus)
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design principles, and best practices
• Proven ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex software issues efficiently
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Ability to work well under pressure and collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrates initiative, independence, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
