Responsibilities
Assist skilled carpenters with various construction tasks, including framing, trim carpentry, and door hanging to ensure project timelines are met efficiently. Prepare construction sites by cleaning, organizing materials, and setting up tools and equipment for daily work. Handle hand tools and power tools safely while supporting tasks such as caulking, siding installation, or fixture mounting. Support concrete forming, masonry work, or roofing projects by providing labor assistance as directed by supervisors. Read and interpret basic schematics or blueprints to aid in accurate material placement and assembly. Perform heavy lifting of materials such as lumber, rebar, or drywall to facilitate smooth workflow on-site. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and assisting in site cleanup at the end of each day.
Qualifications
Previous experience in construction or related industries is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and construction safety practices. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods. Familiarity with construction site procedures such as blueprint reading or schematics is a plus. Strong work ethic with attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward learning new skills. Excellent teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with carpenters and other tradespeople. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant coursework or certifications in carpentry or construction are advantageous.
