Engineering Designer 2

Position Overview

C&S Engineers is seeking an Engineering Designer to support the development, coordination, and delivery of accurate, constructible building system designs. Reporting to the SESW Facilities Manager, the Engineering Designer will design in Revit, coordinate multidisciplinary models, perform clash detection, and provide drafting and modeling support to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineers.

The successful candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, collaborative, and committed to producing high-quality work that meets project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop complete system designs and construction documents using primarily Revit and occasionally AutoCAD.
• Provide BIM modeling, design, drafting, and documentation support to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering teams.
• Create, coordinate, and manage Revit models for assigned projects.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate resolution of model conflicts with project team members.
• Create, modify, and update Revit families to support project-specific requirements and maintain model consistency.
• Independently execute assigned design and drafting tasks while accurately identifying product specifications.
• Review drawings, models, and deliverables for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and coordination before release.
• Identify and correct errors, omissions, and conflicts prior to issuing work as complete.
• Prepare and provide timely, accurate progress reports to the SESW Facilities Manager and project team members.
• Create, maintain, and follow standard work procedures and checklists to promote consistent, high-quality project delivery.
• Manipulate, adapt, and coordinate files created by others while maintaining drawing and model standards.
• Identify training needs and opportunities for continuous technical improvement based on project experience.
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external engineers, architects, designers, project managers, and construction professionals.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• At least four years of professional Revit experience.
• At least two years of Forma experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, and technical details.
• Knowledge of basic construction processes and procedures, with particular familiarity with overhead systems.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary project environment.
• Commitment to accuracy, quality, and constructability in all deliverables.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology, architecture, computer science, drafting, or a related building design discipline OR four years of relevant work experience
• Experience in a construction environment.
• Experience supporting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or structural engineering design and coordination.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary building design and construction workflows.
• Experience with Lidar scanning and point cloud processing is advantageous
• Experience with Autodesk Forma Design & Model Coordination and Build features including clashes, issues, general coordination and resolution workflows
