Key Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt paver to place material to specified depth, width, and grade
- Control speed and material flow to ensure a smooth, consistent mat
- Coordinate with screed operators, roller operators, and truck drivers for efficient paving operations
- Monitor head of material, and overall paving conditions
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Adjust paver controls based on job specifications and site conditions
- Maintain strong awareness of surroundings to ensure safe operation
- Support crew members and assist with general paving duties as needed
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating asphalt pavers
- Strong understanding of paving operations, material flow, and mat quality
- Ability to read and interpret job plans and grade requirements
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and equipment control skills
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment issues
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Willingness to work extended hours, nights, and weekends as needed
