As the Milling Supervisor at C&M, you will be the technical resource to design, implement, control, and optimize the manufacturing processes for our Milling Group. This includes the translation of customer prints to create a compliant part, maintaining the production process by using sound machining principles, troubleshooting production issues, assessing production processes, and making improvement recommendations. It is important to mentor people in your team to promote growth for the individuals and the company. You will also work closely at times with software vendors and tooling/machine vendors to prove-out posts and troubleshoot programs when necessary.
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Develop manufacturing processes and machining programs for new products, product changes, and enhancements as per requested by customers in blueprint form.
- Develop prototypes and perform application programming for products.
- Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods, including time to setup and use of probes. Optimize machining processes making improvements to current operations to improve efficiency. Recommend and implement cost reductions.
- Evaluates manufacturing processes, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from machinists and operators.
- Work with tooling, machine, and software vendors to optimize the programming process.
- Maintains product, process programs, ensuring organization and standardization.
- Improve documentation, including but not limited to layout/setup sheets
- Complete design and development projects by Training and Guiding Less Experienced Production Set-Up Personnel.
- Optimize and document machine setup processes and standardize those processes.
- Coordinate with Production, Designing, and Troubleshooting Fixtures.
