Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Nurse Practitioner role based in Amarillo, TX. The Nurse Practitioner will provide direct occupational health services, including evaluating work-related injuries and illnesses, conducting physical exams, and managing follow-up care. Responsibilities include performing OSHA and employer-required exams, interpreting diagnostic tests, documenting encounters in electronic medical records, and coordinating care with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The role also involves educating employees and employers on injury prevention, workplace safety, and wellness initiatives, as well as participating in telemedicine consultations when needed. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate closely with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely, high-quality, and compliant occupational health services.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas; national NP certification (e.g., FNP, ANP, or related specialty).
- Demonstrated clinical skills in assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute minor injuries, musculoskeletal complaints, and common occupational health conditions.
- Experience conducting employment, DOT, or work-related physicals, health screenings, and OSHA-related evaluations is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, documentation standards, and basic use of telemedicine platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, employers, and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple cases, and exercise sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced occupational health setting.
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS; additional certifications such as CPR/AED instructor or EMR training are a plus.
- Prior experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care is highly beneficial.
- Master’s degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited program; DEA registration or eligibility preferred.
