Labor / Helper

About the Role:

The Labor / Helper position is essential in supporting the Construction Team and ensuring the smooth operation of various work sites in Texas and New Mexico. This role involves assisting with manual tasks, preparing and maintaining work areas, and handling materials and equipment to facilitate efficient project completion. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a safe and organized environment, which is critical for meeting project deadlines and quality standards. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions accurately to support diverse construction and maintenance activities. Ultimately, the Labor / Helper plays a vital role in enabling the Construction Team to perform specialized tasks effectively and safely.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety standards and willingness to adhere to them.
• Able to travel extensively within Texas and New Mexico, from day trips to several weeks long.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass a Background Check and a Pre-Employment Drug Test.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in construction or a related labor-intensive field.
• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist skilled workers by carrying materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas.
• Prepare and clean work sites by removing debris and organizing supplies.
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
• Support the loading and unloading of materials and ensure proper storage to prevent damage.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning tools and equipment after use.
• Communicate effectively with team members to understand daily tasks and priorities.
• Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.

Skills:

The required skills, such as physical stamina and the ability to follow instructions, are critical for safely and efficiently completing daily tasks like moving materials and preparing work sites. Attention to safety protocols ensures a hazard-free environment, which is essential for both personal well-being and team productivity.
