Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on a variety of diesel engines, vehicles, and heavy equipment (e.g., trucks, trailers, construction equipment, agricultural machinery).
- Execute preventative maintenance, general repairs, and complex mechanical overhauls.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle components.
- Utilize diagnostic software and specialized tools to identify and resolve issues accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and safety checks.
- Complete work orders, service reports, and other documentation accurately and completely.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, parts department, and service advisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience as a Diesel Technician, ideally in a [e.g., heavy truck, construction, or agricultural] setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex diesel engine systems, including modern electronic controls.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and drivetrains.
- Experience with various diagnostic software and tools.
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract. CDL is a Plus
- Owns basic hand tools; specialized tools provided by the shop.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
