Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laser Operator/Programmer to join our manufacturing team. Duties
- Program laser cutting machines using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to create precise cuts based on detailed blueprints and specifications
- Operate laser equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring optimal performance and quality standards are met
- Set up and calibrate laser systems. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
- Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication of parts
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and materials handling equipment; assist with loading/unloading raw materials and finished goods in the warehouse or factory setting
- Perform quality control checks utilizing precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
Skills
- Proficiency with Fanuc controls, CNC programming, CAM programming, and blueprint reading
- Experience operating laser cutting machinery within a manufacturing or factory environment
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Ability to use CAD software such as SolidWorks for design adjustments and tooling setup
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation control systems
- Knowledge of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality assurance
- Skilled in materials handling using forklifts and warehouse safety procedures
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments
- Attention to detail with experience in quality control processes using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows including assembly line operations, packaging, fabrication, tooling setup, welding, and finishing processes
