Come join a great team at C&J! We're looking for a full-time, year-round fifth member for our Grounds Maintenance Crew. Shifts are Monday-Friday, 7:00-3:00.

Rate of pay is dependent upon experience and CDL possession. Applicants without a CDL or plumbing/electrical experience must be amenable to receiving training in these areas.

Summary

Repairs and maintains C&J’s facilities, equipment, and grounds. Will perform snow plowing, shoveling during inclement weather as well as landscaping and maintenance of outside property. Perform general maintenance, basic carpentry, plumbing, janitorial, landscaping, snow plowing and other miscellaneous tasks, as they are needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Cut lawns using hand, power, or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.

· Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.

· Apply pesticides and fertilizers.

· Work as part of a team in the de-icing and removal of snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots.

· Proficiently and safely use snow removal equipment such as shovels, plows, snow blowers, ATVs, skid loaders, vehicles with plow blades, and other power and manually operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal.

· Work overtime when required to prevent disruption of C&J operations.

· Inspect, repair & maintain C&J buildings, roadways and other structures as needed.

· Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.

· Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching, and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).

· Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks, and handles, etc.).

· Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, refrigerators, evaporative coolers, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.).

· Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, parking lots, and other work areas as needed.

Skills Required

· Valid NH driver’s license required, CDL preferred.

· Maintain DOT medical card and pass random drug testing.

· Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers, and facility staff in the performance of duties.

· Must be able to follow through on oral/written instructions, sketches, and drawings.

· Must be able to use ladders, staging or scaffolding devices as part of normal work routine.

· Available for emergency work and on-call as needed.

· Must adhere to all safety requirements

· Physical dexterity in limbs and digits to operate hand and power-driven tools and equipment commonly used in the general facilities maintenance.

· Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

· Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

· Ability to continually walk, stand, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, reach in all directions.

· Ability to maintain balance working off the ground using ladders, scaffolds, and/or mechanical lifts.

· Ability to climb stairs.

· Ability to hear and speak to exchange information.

· Ability to see to perform maintenance duties and read blueprints, drawings and specifications.

· Job will require constantly working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements.

· This can include heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, proximity to electrical energy, exposure to tools and machines used in construction industries

Education and Experience

Preferably a high school graduate or equivalent with at least two years' experience working with various hand tools, mowers, lawn maintenance equipment, snow removal, etc. and experience performing minor repairs on electrical, heating, plumbing, boilers, and air conditioning systems.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
