The Corporate Accountant will play a key role in the accounting and financial reporting processes, with a primary focus on fixed asset management, lease accounting and sales and use tax compliance. This position ensures accurate recording, reporting, and compliance with applicable tax laws, accounting standards (ASC 842 for leases, ASC 360 for fixed assets), and company policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has strong analytical and communication skills.
Fixed Assets (60%):
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience: 2–5 years in accounting, with direct experience in fixed asset and lease accounting preferred.
Knowledge: U.S. GAAP, specifically ASC 360 (Property, Plant, and Equipment) and ASC 842 (Leases).
Fixed asset lifecycle and depreciation methods.
Lease accounting software experience (e.g., LeaseQuery, CoStar, Oracle, SAP).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Fixed Assets (60%):
- Record acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation of fixed assets in the fixed asset subledger.
- Review and route capital expenditure requests
- Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger monthly.
- Monitor construction-in-progress (CIP) activity and ensure timely capitalization.
- Conduct periodic asset inventories and support physical verification processes.
- Ensure compliance with capitalization policies and accounting standards (ASC 360).
- Help prepare budget and audit schedules, assist auditors in inquiries.
- Support the operations department in maintaining accurate information on capital projects, support reporting and tracking quarterly spending.
- Assist in post implementation audits of selected capital projects.
- Maintain lease schedules and ensure accurate accounting in compliance with ASC 842. Be able to research GAAP guidance on proper recording of lease terms.
- Perform lease input, disposals and lease modifications in lease accounting software
- Work with operations and legal teams to identify new leases and amendments.
- Prepare journal entries related to lease liabilities and right-of-use (ROU) assets.
- Reconcile lease-related general ledger accounts monthly.
- Assist in lease-related disclosures for financial reporting.
- Assist in preparation of lease budgets.
- Analyze lease vs. buy options.
- Prepare, file, and remit multi-state sales and use tax returns on a timely basis.
- Research and resolve sales and use tax notices or discrepancies.
- Maintain resale and exemption certificates and ensure proper documentation.
- Support external audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Support accounting for the Company’s restaurant operations at month-end and post journal entries.
