Machine Shop Helper

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Shop Helper to support our manufacturing team. This role involves assisting with machining, fabrication, and assembly processes in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, basic understanding of manufacturing principles, and the ability to work safely with various tools and equipment. Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience is a plus, along with familiarity with precision measurement instruments and quality control standards.

Duties

• Assist machinists with setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and other machining equipment
• Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality standards
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move materials and tooling as needed
• Assist in programming CNC machines using CAM programming and CNC programming techniques
• Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety protocols

Experience

• Prior experience in manufacturing or machine shop environments preferred but not required
• Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, CNC programming (including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes), CAM programming, and SolidWorks is advantageous
• Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments preferred
• Familiarity with tooling setup, fabrication techniques, and quality control standards is beneficial
• Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining processes
