Job Title: 2nd Shift Quality Assurance Supervisor

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for daily implementation and enforcement of the quality assurance program and laboratory functions at C&F Packing Co. The position assures compliance with HACCP, company, customer and governmental regulations, specifications and directives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.)

• Enforce company policies and guidelines
• Coordinate efforts with Sanitation Manager and contracted cleaning service personnel results from environmental monitoring program.
• Review daily HACCP and SSOP paperwork generated from the production lines and assist Shipping Department to complete pre-shipment reviews as required by HACCP regulations
• Review quality documents for label and spec compliance
• Prepare and coordinate daily micro sampling sent to third party for analysis Send out production samples to customers as needed
• Assist in the oversight of USDA regulatory compliance activities including non-compliance report responses and general USDA relations
• Assist the Quality Assurance Manager as a company representative and authority with regulatory agencies, customer quality functions and food safety concerns from customers, regulatory agencies and the public
• Assist with the preparations of audits for customers and third-party firms
• Assist with answering and following up on all deficiencies observed in audits
• Enforce food safety programs including but not limited to; GMP, SSOP and SOP documentation.
• Be an active member of the management team providing logistical support on all quality issues
• Directly guide the activities of the Quality Control Technicians
• Perform all tasks according to company safety policies

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises lab technicians in the quality assurance department and physically being on the production floor for the majority of the shift.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.; B.S.) in a related discipline from a four-year college or university or related experience in the food industry.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

A candidate's ability to read, analyze and interpret even the most complex documents is essential. Bilingual is a must.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as logarithms, exponents, algebraic equations and statistics is essential.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply principles of logical scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems is essential. A candidate must have the capability to deal with a wide variety of abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS

HACCP required and PCQI preferred.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
