Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned leader who is the first point of contact and support for the employee experience in the company, including assisting with defining positions, candidate vetting, onboarding, training & orientation facilitation, performance reviews, promotions, and performance improvement plans. Develops, communicates, and enforces company policies. Is skilled at solving employee related issues and takes the lead on ambiguous problems by investigation & action. Communicates with field operations leaders and team members, as well as office team members on a daily basis. Is highly involved in leading the organization of employee appreciation / celebration events, meetings, and gifts. Reports to the Controller and has exposure to Sr. Leadership.

Responsibilities
- Support field operations and office leadership with human resources needs
- Be highly visible and accessible to employees while balancing company leadership team needs
- Assist with position descriptions and on-line job postings, monitor candidate resumes
- Conduct job candidate phone screens and schedule interviews for hiring managers
- Ensure smooth onboarding of new employees and improve retention
- Partner with Payroll on benefit deduction setups, tracking paid time earned & used, and employee system setup
- Oversee weekly hourly timecard verification
- Leads Managers in 60 day and annual employee performance reviews, raises
- Conflict management / employee relations, including formal documentation
- EEO, DOL workforce compliance
- Manage employee on the job injuries medical process & communication
- Coordinate worker's compensation insurance claims
- Company policy owner and internal communication / enforcement of policies
- Coordinate employee drug testing with 3rd party provider
- Partner with company health insurance, W/C, 401K, and other benefit providers
- Lead employee benefits communication and assist with employee benefit enrollment
- Coordinate unemployment for employees on layoff
- Facilitate garnishment & child support paperwork
- Oversee and participate in employee meetings & appreciation events organization
- Facilitate employee apparel on-line orders with 3rd party
- Coordinate with 3rd party IT support for new employees
- Handle employee reimbursement agreements for cell phone and mileage
- Coordinate 3rd party led leadership training sessions
- Handle occasional group travel flight, hotel, car rentals, seminar registrations
- Oversee safety incident reporting & OSHA reporting
- Facilitate charitable community presence
- Track union agreement and coordinate proposed changes during the opening period
- Monitor Facebook & update posts
- Request website updates from 3rd party provider
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience required
- 10-15 years Human Resources leadership experience required
- Experience in construction or field operations environments preferred
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively as a team member
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft office proficiency
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
