Position Summary
Pac West is seeking a dedicated, adaptable educator to support 5th and 6th grade students in a small-group, individualized learning environment. This role works closely with neurodivergent students and requires a willingness to accommodate diverse learning needs. Experience working with special needs students is strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver instruction aligned with each student’s individualized education path.
- Provide appropriate accommodations and differentiated instruction for neurodivergent learners.
- Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with program leadership and support staff.
- Maintain required documentation and participate in staff meetings and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with Washington State licensing regulations and program policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional education in teaching, special education, or child development preferred).
- Experience working with upper elementary or middle school–aged students.
- Willingness to implement accommodations and individualized supports.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with neurodivergent students and/or students with special needs (encouraged).
- Familiarity with individualized learning plans, behavior supports, or trauma-informed practices.
- Experience in alternative education or small-group instructional settings.
Washington State Licensed Child Care Staff Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age and pass a DCYF background check.
- Completion of required trainings (Child Care Basics, First Aid/CPR, and health and safety trainings) within required timelines.
- Ongoing professional development as required under WAC 110-300.
