Duties
- Prepare residential surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Use hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including conventional spray systems), and brushes or rollers to apply coatings accurately and efficiently
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface specifications to execute precise painting tasks aligned with project requirements
- Conduct surface preparation for construction and renovation projects, including plastering and structural painting tasks
- Safely operate ladders and scaffolding to access high or hard-to-reach areas while adhering to safety regulations and using respiratory protection when necessary
- Perform fixture installation, caulking, and minor handyman repairs as part of comprehensive remodeling or maintenance projects
- Follow safety protocols diligently on construction sites to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of residential painting techniques including brush painting, roller application, and spray methods (construction spray painting)
- Strong understanding of color theory for effective visual color comparison and aesthetic consistency
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface specifications accurately
- Experience with construction estimating, surface preparation, coating application, and renovation processes
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding equipment, and construction site safety gear
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to respiratory protection, fall prevention (ladder use), and general construction site safety protocols
- Basic math skills for measurements, surface area calculations, and estimating paint quantities effectively
- Knowledge of fixture installation, caulking techniques, plastering skills, and general remodeling or maintenance work
- Prior construction site experience with an emphasis on quality workmanship in both commercial and residential settings
