Job Description
- Show up on time, every time
- Work as a team to install PVC, Ductile Iron, RCP, Storm Boxes, shoot grades, back fill, compact and other activities.
- Read and understand Construction Details to install work according to requirements.
- Get tools out for the work day, keep them in top shape, lock them up to go home every day.
- Sharpen your skill set by completing various Certifications, OSHA, FOOT MOT, CPR and more (paid by company).
- Practice and Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools
- Install and repair sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems
- Demo, rehab and install pump station pumps, rails, brackets, hardware.
- Pour concrete valve boxes, structural concrete items and needed for the job.
- Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisors
- Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using magnetic or radio indicators
- Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices
- Install and use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels
- Operate mechanized equipment such as Mini-excavator, Skid Steer, Loader, Plate Tamps, pickup trucks, rollers, and more.
- Train others in pipe-laying, and provide supervision to your team.
Job Requirements
- Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees
- Five (5) years or more of industry related experience is required for this position, with an emphasis on utility, pump stations, piping and/or site grading.
- Must have hands-on Construction experience to be eligible for this position.
- All work is performed outdoors in Florida weather, including extreme heat. Job requires long hours of standing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, squatting and walking.
- Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50-90 pounds individually, and up to 150 pounds with assistance
- Manual dexterity to handle and carry generators, lumber and other construction materials, forms, power tools, and hand tools
- Maintain constant awareness of the job sites various concurrent activities, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
- The Pipe Layer must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions
Pay: $ $32.00 per hour
