Overview
C&B Civil Construction is an up-and-coming water and wastewater utility organization specializing in Site, Civil and Construction services. C&B Civil is a fast paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in High Springs/ Alachua, FL with projects throughout the State of Florida. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH UTILITY CONSTRUCTION TO BE CONSIDERED.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
This position involves managing the administrative and management work to complete construction projects. This includes, but is not limited to: Issuing Purchase orders and Subcontracts, Processing Material submittals, Requests for Information, Change Orders, Notices to the Owner, sub-contractors and Suppliers, Construction Schedule, Permits, or specific work programs in the construction, repair of water, wastewater, collection and distribution systems and other facilities for C&B Civil Construction, Inc. The Project Manager's focus is coordination according to prescribed scope, schedule, and budget specifications. The Project Manager will assist in all aspects of construction administration including estimating, scheduling and managing crews, site visits, photos, and more
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Analyze and estimate project scope, cost, duration of assigned projects
Prepares bids, RFP's, quotes, etc. for the Construction Manager
Develop, adjust and monitor plans, budgets, and schedules, authorize purchases within limits of authority; monitor and control budget for assigned projects
Order materials necessary for accomplishing projects
Manage work as it is performed in collaboration with the Construction Superintendent. Inspect and maintain work and personnel records as required.
Meet with the Engineer, Owner, Subcontractors as needed.
Prepare submittals of material and shop drawings for approval from client.
Prepare RFPs and change orders for projects as needed.
Maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance during regularly scheduled work hours at assigned worksite.
Work a flexible schedule averaging 40 hours (may exceed at times) which may include evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
Perform a variety of related work, as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of general administration duties, Construction methods and standards, water & wastewater distribution & collection lines, mechanical equipment such as Pumps, Drives, Blowers, Motors and standard construction materials used in Utility and Site work construction.
Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
Knowledge of public safety and security issues and regulations.
Ability to coordinate own and others' actions, manage own time and manage personnel resources.
Ability to communicate effectively to clients, staff, and management both verbally and in writing.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural blue prints.
Excellent written communication skills as well as computer skills with Excel, Revu 21 Bluebeam, MS WORD, MS Project, and project tracking software.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:
Work experience related to infrastructure, lead or supervisory experience is preferred. Related vocational training or advanced education may substitute for up to two years of experience. Must have Utility or Plant Construction experience to apply.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:
A valid Driver's License is required.
Excellent written communication skills as well as computer skills with Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and project tracking software.
Experience in water and wastewater utilities or construction management.
