Groundskeeper / Maintenance Porter

Full-Time | Outdoor Work Required | May Rotate Between Properties
Pay: $16 hourly and Transportation Allowance
Job Overview: Apartment Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable and hard-working Groundskeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming community for our residents. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and values being part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Walk the property daily to pick up trash, remove debris, and maintain dog waste stations and dumpster areas
- Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and mulching
- Use hand tools and power equipment (leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.)
- Remove snow and apply salt to sidewalks and steps during winter weather
- Keep the maintenance shop organized and stocked
- Report safety hazards and maintenance concerns to the Service Supervisor
- Assist with unit “make-ready” tasks as requested
- Follow company safety procedures and property security protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate power tools and landscaping equipment
- Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and outdoor maintenance
- Good time management and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license required
- Reliable transportation required; may be assigned to multiple properties during a shift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical work (standing, walking, bending, kneeling)
- Able to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Availability for emergency response during inclement weather
