Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CNC Supervisor to lead our machining operations and ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the setup, programming Siemens Control, and operation of CNC machines, including CNC lathes, milling machines, and 5-axis CNC equipment. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling, and precision measurement will drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles. As a leader on the shop floor, you will coordinate with engineering and production teams to meet demanding manufacturing goals while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Duties
- Supervise daily CNC machining operations, ensuring optimal machine performance and productivity.
- Lead CNC tooling setup, calibration, and maintenance to maximize machining accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and review CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or CATIA, integrating CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software for precise machining processes.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Monitor measurement processes using precision instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality control.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste, improve workflow, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Train and mentor machining team members on CNC programming, setup procedures, safety protocols, and best practices in metal machining.
Requirements
- Proven experience supervising CNC machining operations with expertise in CNC lathe and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and familiarity with other CNC control systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA for engineering design and CAD-based programming.
- Experience with CAM software for CNC programming and toolpath generation.
- Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of tooling selection, geometry calculations, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and machining tool setup.
- Skilled in measurement techniques using precision measuring instruments including bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong communication abilities to lead a team effectively.
