Fleet Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cummins motors, diesel mechanical knowledge and diagnostics, with the ability to perform CHP BIT maintenance and repairs on Peterbilt, Kenworth tractors, flatbed trailers and forklifts. This role requires a commitment to safety, efficiency, and ensuring that all fleet vehicles are operating at peak performance.

Duties

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles to ensure safety and reliability. Knowledge of CHP and BIT inspections
• Perform repairs on various systems including Cummins diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, hydraulics, and electrical components.
• Utilize Cummins diagnostics tools to identify issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
• Lift heavy equipment and parts as needed during repair processes.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while working in the shop or on-site.

Requirements

• Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in diesel diagnostics.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment, particularly Cummins engines is preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for repairs.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid driver's license is required; additional certifications may be beneficial.
