Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator/Truck Driver to join our construction and transportation team. This position involves operating various types of heavy machinery and commercial trucks on construction sites, ensuring safe and efficient movement of materials. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction equipment, mechanical knowledge, and a valid commercial driver's license. Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and Caterpillar machinery to perform earthmoving, grading, and material handling tasks.
- Drive and operate various trucks including front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks for transporting materials to and from construction sites.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites by moving equipment and materials efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Perform maintenance tasks on equipment as needed or report issues to maintenance personnel.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to complete projects on schedule.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other machinery.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Construction site experience preferred; familiarity with concrete mixers, farm machinery, water trucks, roll-off trucks, or tankers is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Ability to operate specialized vehicles including front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and transportation in construction environments.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
