Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role as a Project Leader / Mold Maker at Byrne Tool Design in Rockford, MI. The Project Leader will be responsible for leading and managing multiple tooling projects, coordinating with internal departments, working directly with customers and vendors, and ensuring all work is completed to quality standards and within established timelines. The position also requires hands-on mold making, including manual machining and troubleshooting.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements
- Lead new mold builds, repairs, and engineering changes
- Coordinate workflow and resources across all departments to meet project deadlines
- Work directly with vendors for outsourced tooling and specialty services
- Interact with customers in a positive, professional, and supportive manner
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve production and tooling issues
- Perform manual machining on mills and grinders as needed
- Maintain accurate, organized, and timely project records and documentation
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, values, and ethical standards
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Support continuous improvement of project-related processes
Skills / Experience Required
- Minimum of five years of experience in mold building
- Department of Labor–issued Journeyman's card required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-driven individual with strong work ethic
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to customer satisfaction
Education Requirements
Department of Labor Journeyman's Card in Mold Making (required)
High school diploma or GED
