Role Description This is a on-site role for an Experienced Site Manager based in Bradford. The Site Manager will oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification across areas such as excavation, drainage, concrete yard slabs plus associated hard landscaping.
Responsibilities include coordinating our site team and subcontractors, managing plant and materials, monitoring progress against programmes, and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with relevant regulations and company procedures. The role involves conducting and reviewing risk assessments and method statements, enforcing health and safety requirements, and resolving site issues in collaboration with project managers and clients. The Site Manager will also contribute to site documentation, reporting, and communication, supporting strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Experience managing civil engineering or groundworks sites, including excavation, foundations, drainage, and external concrete yard slabs .
- Strong skills in planning, coordinating site activities, and supervising multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, including familiarity with ISO standards and safe systems of work.
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, and programmes, and to monitor quality and progress effectively.
- Competence in site reporting, record-keeping, and use of basic digital tools for communication and documentation.
- Relevant construction or civil engineering experience SMSTS plus 3 day First Aider, CSCS level 3 and above
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make informed decisions under time and resource constraints.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, colleagues, operatives, and local authorities.
