Portables Route Driver

Position Summary

Bypass Portables is seeking a dependable, hardworking Portables Route Driver to service portable restrooms throughout our service area.

The Route Driver is responsible for completing an assigned daily service route safely, efficiently, and professionally. This includes pumping and cleaning portable restrooms, restocking supplies, delivering and picking up units when needed, maintaining the service truck, documenting completed services, and providing excellent customer service.

This position requires someone who is comfortable working independently, takes pride in their work, and understands that they represent Bypass Portables at every customer location.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Daily Route & Service

• Complete assigned service route accurately and efficiently.
• Pump and properly service portable restrooms.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize the interior and exterior of each unit.
• Restock toilet paper, sanitizer, and other required supplies.
• Add fresh water and chemicals according to company procedures.
• Inspect units for damage or needed repairs.
• Ensure units are left clean, upright, secure, and properly positioned.
• Complete scheduled deliveries, pickups, swaps, and moves as assigned.
• Report blocked, inaccessible, missing, damaged, or excessively dirty units immediately.
• Document completed and attempted services accurately.
• Take required photos when necessary.

Truck & Equipment Responsibilities

• Perform a pre-trip inspection before beginning the route.
• Keep the truck clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Ensure the waste tank is emptied and the fresh-water tank is filled as required so the truck is ready for service.
• Monitor fuel, fluids, tires, lights, hoses, pumps, and other service equipment.
• Immediately report mechanical or safety concerns.
• Safely operate pumps, hoses, tanks, and other portable sanitation equipment.
• Follow all DOT and company vehicle requirements when applicable.

Customer Service

• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at customer locations.
• Communicate with customers when necessary regarding placement, access, service issues, or concerns.
• Respect customer property, jobsites, and facilities.
• Communicate customer requests or complaints to the appropriate team member.
• Remember that every interaction represents Bypass Portables and Bypass Rental.

Safety & Cleanliness

• Follow all company safety procedures.
• Wear required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and other PPE as required.
• Maintain proper sanitation and hygiene practices when handling waste.
• Safely operate company vehicles on jobsites, construction sites, and public roads.
• Immediately report spills, accidents, injuries, property damage, or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean truck and work environment throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a service truck and trailer when required.
• Ability to work independently and manage an assigned route.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to follow routes, schedules, and written procedures.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Comfortable working around portable sanitation equipment and waste.
• Ability to perform physical work throughout the shift, including lifting, pulling hoses, moving portable restrooms, and repeatedly entering and exiting the truck.
• Previous route driving, delivery, construction, rental, sanitation, or service experience is preferred but not required.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
