DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and manage processes and methods to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
- Identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
- Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
- Communicate and train staff in quality standards and parameters.
- Coordinate product testing processes.
- Participate in product testing.
- Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
- Review client, customer, and user feedback.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Coordinate the response, along with the other necessary parties, to customer complaints and ensure information is entered and complaints closed in the ETQ system.
- Maintains all aspects of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System including being the primary contact for audits
- Help maintain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and assist in audits
- Hire, train, and supervise QC staff
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Cost center manager for Quality department
- Maintain SAP QM module including raw materials, product specifications, and COA profiles for product portfolio.
- Manage raw material quality assurance
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Excellent analytical chemistry skills, particularly of ICP and HPLC.
- Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements
- Ability to develop test methods for customers’ specifications
- Excellent people management skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Capable of working within a changing environment and prioritizing and achieving results with limited resources

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Chemistry/Biology preferred MS degree is a plus
- 5 years of applicable laboratory experience
- Prior experience in supervision preferred
- Excellent analytical chemistry skills, particularly of ICP and HPLC
- Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9001 etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; and experience in SAP is preferred
