Farm Equipment Mechanic: Diagnose, maintain, and repair agricultural equipment and machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and other farm implements used in planting, cultivating, and harvesting operations. Disassemble, repair, and reassemble engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components. Examine equipment, read inspection reports, and test systems to identify malfunctions and determine appropriate repairs. Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, welding equipment, lathes, grinders, and other shop equipment. Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and mechanical adjustments. Test electrical systems and replace wiring and components using diagnostic tools and test meters. Tune and overhaul engines and related mechanical systems. Maintain records of repairs performed and parts used. Perform incidental fabrication of replacement parts as necessary to complete equipment repairs. Operate service vehicles to transport tools and equipment to worksites for on-site repair of agricultural machinery; driving is incidental to primary job duties and does not require a commercial driver’s license. Workers must have 12 months of verifiable experience in the repair and maintenance of agricultural equipment or closely related machinery; be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; stand, bend, kneel, reach, and work in confined or awkward positions for extended periods; use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment associated with agricultural machinery repair; and work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including temperatures ranging from approximately 10°F to 100°F. Work is performed in both shop and field environments, and workers may be exposed to dust, grease, noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying weather conditions; work may occur during light rain or humid conditions where operations are not halted. Employer may increase wage based on experience, changes in market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per work week.
