Driver - CDL Class A

Job Summary:

Drives a pick-up truck with trailer, box truck, or semi to transport furniture for delivery to residential and commercial customers in a safe and timely manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Load and unload truck with product and supplies.
• Run routes with semi between Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Texas to By the Yard showrooms. Some overnights possible due to DOT drive time regulations. 
• Drive route and deliver furniture as directed. Occasional delivery to trade shows. 
• Use electronic log to track, check, prioritize and route orders.
• Verify order is correct and complete paperwork.
• Provide exceptional service in all customer interactions.
• Occasionally make minor repairs and assembly at the customer location.
• May produce and assemble parts for sub and/or final assembly to the highest quality with minimal rework.
• Remain compliant with housekeeping standards and all safety and work rules and regulations.
• Recommend new and better processes, and methods to supervisor.
• Work with other departments on various assignments, as necessary.
• Maintain a clean driving record and report all incidents or damages immediately.
• Exercise professional and courteous driving. Obey all laws and ordinances.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A driver's license with a clean driving record and medical certification. We can assist with getting a DOT physical. 
• If you do not have a Class A, we are willing to help you secure your Class A CDL endorsement. 
• Experience using poser and hand tools such as drill and screw gun.
• Understand and follow written, verbal, and mapped directions.
• Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills.
• Positive and professional attitude.
• Occasional travel to store locations in another state.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year experience as a Delivery Driver.

Physical and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to regularly stand, and frequently walk, talk, or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee must stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, carrying and moving parts, materials, and product. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
