By Light seeks a Network Engineer with a specialty in Timing and Synchronization to join our engineering team in support of our DoD customer. We are looking for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic network engineer to join our DISA team in delivering high quality timing distribution systems. You will be responsible for the technical design, tradeoff analysis, lab testing and certification,and development of network layouts and system configurations.

We are looking for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic network engineer to join our DISA team in delivering high quality timing distribution systems. You will be responsible for the technical design, tradeoff analysis, lab testing and certification,and development of network layouts and system configurations.
- Function as Lead Lab Test Engineer on Timing and Synchronization hardware and configuration certification.
- Analyze network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements
- Initiate and coordinate with customers on sensitive customer timing feeds
- Develop site/project-specific system engineering designs to transition current timing feeds to the new timing distribution scheme
- Monitors project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Supports the acquisition of hardware and software
- Support field installers with calibration/testing/troubleshooting methods to ensure all equipment, circuits, and services are successfully implemented.
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, or information technology management or technical discipline is required
- Active 8570 Certication
- 10 years experience in Timing and Sync or related field.
- Experience in Timing architectures and design.
- Strong working knowledge of GPS (and the technology behind it - Stratum 1 timing sources, antennas, and Cesium Clocks, IRIG/1PPS signaling, etc.)
- Working knowledge Microsoft Office tools specifically, Excel, Word, Visio and Project
- Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills
- Prior work with leading-edge precise timing technologies a plus.
- Experience with one of the following is desired Microsemi, FEI Zyfer CommSync II, Symmetricom, etc.
- Experience working with DOD is desired
- Field Services experience is a plus
- Minimum DoD Secret clearance required
