Position Summary
We are seeking a Yard Jockey/Spotter to safely and efficiently move trailers within the yard using a yard truck. This role is essential for maintaining an organized yard and supporting timely deliveries and pickups. The ideal candidate will have clean driving record, a commitment to safety, and experience in trailer spotting.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently move trailers between dock doors and staging areas with a strong focus on collision prevention and ground-crew safety.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all yard tractors and trailers to identify mechanical risks early.
- Ensure all parked trailers are properly chocked, secured, and sealed to prevent shifting or unauthorized access.
- Promptly identify and report equipment malfunctions, potential hazards, or unsafe yard conditions to leadership.
- Maintain precise records of trailer movements while strictly adhering to DOT and company safety protocols.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of obstructions to prevent trips, slips, and falls.
- Support other yard and site-related tasks as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Current and valid DOT Medical Card.
- Active compliance with DOT FMCSA Clearinghouse.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a yard spotter
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Ability to safely maneuver and back 53' trailers in tight spaces and fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 25 lbs.

- Familiarity with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) preferred.

Schedule
Night Shift:
- 5:30 PM - 5:30 AM, 48/36 hour work weeks
