BWEEMS serves members across career stages, from students to established professionals, through programs such as mentorship, coaching, writing accountability, community gatherings, regional engagement, and virtual events. Community and Partnership Manager Position Title: Community and Partnership Manager Schedule Expectations: This is a full-time position with an expected workload of 40 hours per week or more , as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.Status: Full-time, exempt
Salary: $47,000 - $50,000 / with Benefits and paid time off.
Location: Remote with occasional travel

Position SummaryThe Community and Partnership Manager will lead the planning, coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of BWEEMS’ member-facing programs and community engagement efforts. This role will steward the overall member experience by overseeing core programs, supporting community connection, coordinating virtual and in-person regional engagement opportunities, and helping ensure that BWEEMS programming remains impactful, organized, and responsive to member needs.
This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of programs and community initiatives, including implementation, participant support, program logistics, documentation, evaluation, and improvement. The Community and Partnership Manager will serve as a key driver of connection, consistency, and care within the BWEEMS community.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Duties· Attend and actively participate in regular staff meetings, supervisory check-ins, planning meetings, and other organizational meetings as required.
· Maintain timely and professional communication across email, shared workspaces, and internal systems.
· Manage calendars, deadlines, and follow-up tasks related to assigned areas of responsibility.
· Maintain accurate records, organized files, and up-to-date documentation for programs, processes, and projects.
· Prepare internal updates, summaries, reports, and planning materials as needed.
· Use shared systems and tools consistently to support transparency, accountability, and continuity across the organization.
· Support organizational planning and administrative follow-through on key priorities, events, and deliverables.
· Document relevant decisions, workflows, and recurring processes to strengthen institutional knowledge and long-term sustainability.
Program Management and Delivery· Lead the implementation and day-to-day coordination of BWEEMS core programs
· Oversee program logistics, calendars, participation tracking, communications, and follow-through
· Manage member-facing initiatives such as writing accountability, internships, mentorship, coaching, virtual community offerings, and other evolving programs
· Report on progress and impact of BWEEMS programming and make recommendations on evolving suite of programs to remain relevant in meeting member needs
· Maintain program materials, resources, participant processes, and internal documentation
· Help ensure that programs are well organized, accessible, and aligned with organizational priorities
· Coordinate timely and consistent promotion of BWEEMS programs across organizational communication channels.
· Foster meaningful member participation and ongoing engagement in BWEEMS programming and community offerings.
· Evaluate how members access, experience, and benefit from BWEEMS’ suite of programs and opportunities, and identify recommendations to strengthen impact and connection.
· Cultivate and manage relationships with partner organizations to support the delivery, expansion, and long-term sustainability of BWEEMS programming..
Membership and Community Engagement· Support a strong and connected member experience across BWEEMS programs and engagement opportunities
· Foster engagement and communication on BWEEMS social network/ Might Networks
· Coordinate virtual events, gatherings, and community-building opportunities for members
· Foster member connection through responsive communication, thoughtful program support, and community-centered engagement practices
· Gather and help interpret member feedback to strengthen participation and belonging
· Collaborate on strategies to improve member engagement, retention, and program participation
Regional Groups and Community-Based Initiatives· Coordinate and support BWEEMS regional groups and related member-led engagement opportunities
· Manage processes related to regional participation, mini-grants, and community-led programming
· Support regional leaders with communication, resources, guidance, and coordination
· Track regional group activity, participation, and impact
· Help strengthen connection and shared learning across local and regional efforts
Mentorship, Coaching, and Writing Accountability· Support and coordinate mentorship and coaching structures, participant experience, communications, and tracking
· Maintain guidelines, resources, and processes that support strong program delivery
· Coordinate or facilitate writing accountability structures and related engagement opportunities
· Monitor participation, satisfaction, and program outcomes
· Recommend improvements that strengthen sustainability, accessibility, and impact
Program Evaluation, Communication, and Improvement· Track program participation, engagement data, and key outcomes
· Prepare regular updates, summaries, and recommendations for leadership
· Maintain documentation that supports continuity and future growth
· Collaborate with communications support or contractors to promote programs, events, and community opportunities
· 3–5 years of experience in program management, community engagement, establishing and/or supporting membership programs, nonprofit programming, or a related field
· Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and timelines
· Experience creating welcoming and inclusive participant experiences
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Familiarity with nonprofit program evaluation and participant communications[2]
· Ability to work independently while staying collaborative and responsive in a remote environment
· Experience tracking participation, feedback, or program outcomes
· Commitment to the mission of BWEEMS and to supporting Black women in ecology, evolution, marine science, and related fields
· Strong understanding of the experiences, barriers, and strengths within Black communities, with demonstrated ability to work respectfully, effectively, and in alignment with a mission centered on Black women
Preferred· Experience with mentorship, coaching, community-building, or professional development programs
· Experience supporting virtual events, member engagement initiatives, or regional/community-led networks
· Experience working with scientists, academics, students, or professional communities
· Understanding of the barriers and opportunities experienced by Black women in scientific and environmental spaces
