Job Description:
The Materials Planner – Service Parts plays a critical role in ensuring continuity of service and inventory availability during and after the organization’s transition from Infor XA to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O).
Short Term, this role serves as a hyper-care resource, supporting all functional teams by monitoring legacy XA Customer Orders (COs), Manufacturing Orders (MOs), and Purchase Orders (POs) to ensure timely completion and escalation as needed.
Long Term, the Materials Planner acts as a key liaison between Commercial and Operations teams, driving superior service through business process improvements, ERP support, inventory availability, and cross-functional coordination. This role has a direct impact on aftermarket service performance and overall business success across BWConverting and Barry-Wehmiller.

Key Responsibilities
ERP Transition & Hyper-Care Support (Short Term)
- Act as a hyper-care resource during the transition from Infor XA to Microsoft F&O.
- Monitor all legacy XA COs, MOs, and POs to ensure timely execution and closure.
- Proactively alert and coordinate with appropriate teams to address delays or risks.
- Support execution teams with technical and functional ERP troubleshooting.
- Develop, monitor, and adjust PFEP (Plan for Every Part) stocking strategies across service warehouses to maximize availability and service levels.
- Evaluate daily inventory levels across all warehouses to fulfill open customer orders and coordinate inter-warehouse transfers.
- Determine item and requirement coverage using a speed-to-market mindset.
- Monitor and expedite sold items requiring enrichment.
- Provide planning and execution support for all Service Parts projects and sub-projects within Microsoft F&O.
- Ensure accurate item availability to support customer commitments and commercial objectives.
- Serve as a primary liaison between Commercial, Operations, and Service Parts teams.
- Effectively represent and engage with the BWConverting Service Parts Leadership Team and business units.
- Communicate business requirements clearly and ensure alignment across teams.
- Collaborate regularly with Finance, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, IT, and other supporting functions.
- Take ownership and accountability for business unit KPIs.
- Understand financial impacts and budgetary constraints when implementing inventory and process changes.
- Support and defend business unit initiatives and objectives.
- Identify issues early, resolve independently when possible, and escalate appropriately.
- Be accessible, visible, and actively engaged during regular business hours.
- Participate consistently in team activities and discussions.
- Coach, mentor, and support members of the Service Parts – Americas team.
- Challenge the status quo to improve speed-to-market, availability, and financial contribution.
- Recognize and encourage team members, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 2 years as a respected contributor within their facility or organization.
- 5 years of experience working with ERP systems (Infor XA, Microsoft D365 F&O preferred).
- Strong understanding of enterprise-level decision-making processes.
- Solid awareness of internal organizational and political structures.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Ability to understand and improve cross-functional business processes.
- Proven track record with a bias for action and continuous improvement mindset.
- Respected and trusted partner across teams and functions.
- Deep understanding of aftermarket service parts and their impact on business performance.
- Strong communicator who balances operational execution with strategic thinking.
