Job Description:
The Assembly Team Leader is responsible for leading a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assembly professionals to build high-quality machinery. This role focuses on driving efficiency, ensuring safety, and promoting continuous improvement in all assembly processes.
Essential Functions
- Lead and develop assembly team members to maximize efficiency, equipment value, cross-training, and employee growth.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging available tools and resources to reduce machine downtime and improve processes.
- Oversee adherence to standard work processes and identify ongoing training needs.
- Support planning and evaluation of future assembly equipment investments.
- Partner with the Quality team to address non-conformances, ensuring effective containment, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure readiness for rapid response to meet customer needs and production demands.
- Proactively identify equipment issues and collaborate with Maintenance to schedule preventive maintenance activities.
- Promote and sustain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments; promptly address and correct unsafe conditions or practices.
- Monitor and forecast monthly business and financial commitments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3–5 years of relevant manufacturing or assembly experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical expertise in machining, painting, fabrication, materials, blueprint reading, NC programs, routings, tooling, and fixturing.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Proven problem-solving, planning, and scheduling capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements, including increasing throughput, reducing cycle time, and improving inventory turns.
