Primary Function

Join our dynamic team as a Water/Wastewater Treatment Operator, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining our wastewater treatment facilities. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you'll conduct essential technical and mechanical tasks, ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of treatment and conveyance facilities. Your responsibilities will extend to daily operations, training initiatives, and maintaining a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance. Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor and maintain the wastewater treatment system to ensure proper treatment of facility discharge waters.
  • Monitor discharged water for contamination by hazardous wastes throughout the plant and other general waste treatment area operations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of wastewater treatment facilities and properties
  • Report any safety, environmental, or quality concerns and take necessary actions.
  • Operates wastewater treatment plants by monitoring, evaluating, adjusting and maintaining the equipment and systems used in these facilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by fostering open communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Adhere to industry safety standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Execute routine and emergency operational, maintenance, construction, and repair functions, prioritizing tasks in the field
  • Conduct daily inspections of wastewater treatment facilities, and related equipment
  • Respond to operational emergencies as required, potentially involving on-call and shift work
  • Assist customers with water-related concerns, ensuring quality, delivery, and addressing odors and vector control
  • Coordinate all work efforts within the framework of company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Maintains a variety of operational and maintenance logs, reports and other forms
  • Performs ground and building maintenance
  • Operates and maintains motor vehicle and lawn maintenance equipment
  • Offer guidance to peers and subordinates in routine day-to-day work activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification license by State licensing agency (Minimum Double C – Water/Wastewater)
  • High school education or GED as a minimum. 
  • Valid driver’s license in the State of Texas. 
  • Must pass a background check. 
  • Resides within the area of employment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to safely operate various equipment
  • Ability to make equipment repairs
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE for chemical protection
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and established procedures for maintenance and testing

Work Hours

The work schedule is five days per week, 8 hours per day, minimum. Work hours are subject to change depending on operational conditions and needs.
