Laborer / Spotter – Type IV Landfill

Job Summary

BVR Waste & Recycling is hiring a dependable Laborer / Spotter to support daily operations at our Type IV Landfill facility in College Station, Texas.

This is a hands-on outdoor position responsible for helping maintain safe traffic flow, spotting for heavy equipment operators, inspecting incoming loads, assisting customers, and keeping the landfill clean and organized.

The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, comfortable working outdoors, and willing to be part of a hardworking operations team.

What You’ll Do

• Direct customers, trucks, and vehicles safely throughout the landfill
• Spot for heavy equipment operators during unloading and disposal activities
• Help maintain safe distances between people, vehicles, and equipment
• Inspect incoming loads for prohibited or unauthorized materials
• Perform litter pickup and general site cleanup
• Assist with basic landfill maintenance and housekeeping tasks
• Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and company procedures
• Communicate clearly with equipment operators, customers, scale house personnel, and supervisors
• Work outdoors in heat, dust, mud, and changing weather conditions

What We’re Looking For

• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and moving vehicles
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, and move across uneven terrain
• Ability to follow instructions and stay alert in a busy work environment
• Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred
• Landfill, construction, waste management, traffic control, or general labor experience is a plus

Work Environment

This position works primarily outdoors at an active Type IV Landfill facility. Team members may be exposed to:

• Heavy equipment traffic
• Trucks and customer vehicles
• Dust and airborne particles
• Heat, rain, mud, and changing weather
• Loud noise levels
• Rough and uneven terrain

Safety Requirements

Safety is a top priority at BVR Waste & Recycling and Brannon Industrial Group. Employees are required to follow all site safety rules and wear required PPE.

Required PPE may include:

• Hard hat
