BVR Waste & Recycling is hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician to join our growing team in College Station. In this role, you’ll be hands-on with a diverse fleet—keeping equipment safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance every day.

What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Class 8 trucks, light-duty vehicles, and heavy equipment
- Work on critical systems, including:
- Diesel engines (Cummins, Mack, and others)
- Hydraulic systems
- Air brake systems
- Drivetrains and transmissions
- Electrical systems and diagnostics
- HVAC systems
- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) to keep the fleet running efficiently
- Complete roadside and field repairs when needed
- Use diagnostic software and scan tools to identify issues quickly
- Inspect components and determine cost-effective repair vs. replacement
- Accurately complete work orders and maintenance documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
- Collaborate with the Shop Manager on timelines and repair needs
What You Bring
- 5 years of hands-on experience as a diesel, truck, or heavy equipment mechanic
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and air brake systems
- Experience working on Class 8 trucks
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems
- Your own tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable transportation to College Station, TX
Bonus Points (Preferred)
- Experience in the waste/refuse industry
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools:
- Tech Tool
- Cummins Insite
- JPRO
- Class B CDL (or willingness to obtain)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- Overtime available
- Occasional Saturdays as needed
