This position requires a deep understanding of fund code management, DoD financial systems, and the ability to provide expert guidance on WFCMS processes to support military and defense operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary SME for the Web Fund Code Management System (WFCMS), overseeing the creation, management, and accuracy of fund codes used for DoD financial tracking and resource allocation.
- Provide expert guidance and support to DoD agencies, contractors, and internal teams regarding the use, configuration, and troubleshooting of the WFCMS.
- Ensure accurate and timely assignment and maintenance of fund codes to support various defense and military projects, ensuring alignment with DoD budgeting and financial standards.
- Collaborate with DoD finance, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure seamless integration of WFCMS with other DoD financial and operational systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fund code assignment, data integrity, and WFCMS functionality, ensuring optimal system performance and user experience.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of best practices, policies, and procedures for managing fund codes within the WFCMS.
- Support training efforts, providing guidance and education to users on the correct procedures for assigning, updating, and reporting on fund codes.
- Stay informed about DoD regulations, policies, and financial systems updates related to fund management and incorporate these changes into WFCMS processes.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for WFCMS users and stakeholders.
- Provide regular reporting on fund code usage, ensuring compliance with DoD financial management and auditing standards.
- Recommend system improvements, optimizations, and enhancements to align with evolving DoD requirements and improve overall system efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience working with the Web Fund Code Management System (WFCMS) or similar DoD financial systems.
- Strong knowledge of fund code management, financial tracking, and resource allocation within DoD operations.
- In-depth understanding of DoD financial regulations, policies, and best practices related to fund code management and reporting.
- Experience integrating financial systems with operational systems and ensuring data consistency across platforms.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to system functionality, data integrity, and user access.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Ability to develop and deliver training materials, conduct training sessions, and provide user support for WFCMS and related financial systems.
- Proficiency with WFCMS and other DoD financial management tools.
- Certification or formal training in Web Fund Code Management or related DoD financial systems (e.g., Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) systems).
- Previous experience in a financial, technical, or operational role within DoD or related defense agencies.
- Knowledge of DoD budgeting, fund control, and financial reporting procedures.
