Summary:

Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack FrontEnd/CMS works directly with stakeholders, including a product manager and experimentation manager to develop and extend our component and template libraries for the BuzzRX website and white label platform. This person will be responsible for development in our modern headless stack, working in both the CMS (Optimizely) as well as the frontend platform (React/NextJS). The Senior Software Engineer should be able to work autonomously, be very detail oriented (think pixel perfect), and able to see the features through from inception to delivery. This person will work outside our normal SDLC lifecyle to quickly develop and deliver software to meet emerging ideas to allow us to test the market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Expertise in developing templates and custom component libraries in Optimizely (formerly known as Episerver).
  • Expertise in front end development using ReactJS/NextJS or similar front end frameworks.
  • Expertise in developing HTML/CSS with a mobile first mindset.
  • Familiar and comfortable with deploying and testing code.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, and management.
  • Understanding of agile software development concepts and processes. Must be proactive and demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker. Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply requirements, draw out unforeseen implications and make recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, and understand the potential impacts of design requirements. Thorough understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery. Collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required
  • Participate in estimating, designing, and developing to verify the functionality, accuracy, and efficiency of complex developed or enhanced software applications across multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and tight deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience working in a fast-paced business environment as a Software Engineer with relevant demonstrable experience with CMS and frontend technologies
  • 3 years of tech industry experience with understanding and/or hands-on experience in managing modern software technologies including, web, mobile and cloud-based technologies
  • Experience in interfacing with technology team that works in an Agile framework (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) utilizing Atlassian tools
  • An "execution mindset" focused on getting things done quickly and simply. Strong bias for action and an intrinsic ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Strong interpersonal skills, negotiating ability, and evidence of enabling teamwork in a matrix environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred 5 years of professional software development experience with the following technologies: ReactJS, NextJS, C#, and HTML/CSS
  • Preferred Bachelor's and/or Masters' degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Application architecture and design patterns
  • Experience serving as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle, from conception, architecture definition, detailed design, scoping, planning, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance is preferred
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience in the development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications

Work Location:

This position can be remote for purposes of providing adequate support to internal clients; offshore teams, being available for interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as for facilitation of quick and effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.

Working Hours:

This exempt-level position requires one to work the hours needed to get the job done. Therefore, one must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends, or on holidays as required. This may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business. Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Travel

This position may require domestic travel and attendance at various local conferences and meetings.
