What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Experience Lead position at Buzz N' B's Aquarium & Pet Shop?
Customer Experience Lead – Buzz n’ B’s Aquarium & Pet Shop
Buzz n’ B’s is looking for a confident, customer-focused team member to lead the front end experience in our fast-paced, specialty pet store.
This role is not just cashiering — it’s about creating a welcoming, helpful, and organized environment for every customer who walks through our doors.
We specialize in aquatics, reptiles, birds, and small animals, so curiosity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are key.
This role requires someone who enjoys interacting with people all day — not someone who prefers to stay behind the scenes.
What You’ll Do
- Be the first point of contact for customers and set the tone for their experience
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable guidance (or confidently direct to the right team member)
- Manage merchandising and in store promotions
- Answer phones, handle basic questions, and route more complex ones appropriately
- Support product sales with confidence (not pushy—just helpful and informed)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing front area
- Help keep the team on track during busy periods
What We’re Looking For
- Strong customer service skills (this matters more than pet knowledge)
- Social media communications
- Confident communicator who can lead interactions, not avoid them
- Reliable and consistent — shows up ready to work
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, sometimes chaotic retail environment
- Able to multitask without losing attention to detail
- Retail experience is a plus, but not required
Bonus If You Have
- Interest in animals
- Sales experience or comfort recommending products
- Experience handling high-volume customer interactions
Schedule & Requirements
- Must be available some weekends
- Must be 18
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Employee discount
- Flexible schedule
Application Question(s):
- This role is primarily customer service, not animal care. Why does this position still appeal to you?
- In a busy store, a customer needs help while animal care tasks still need done. How would you prioritize?
Work Location: In person
Salary : $11 - $13
