What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Buyken Metal Products?
Responsibilities:
- Ensure work area is safe, organized and clean
- Ensure all measurement equipment is operational and calibrated
- Approve in-coming material and components; conducting visual and measurement tests
- Audits in-process controls to conformity
- Performs 1st and last part buy-off manufacturing steps
- Perform incoming inspections
- Approves finished goods prior to be shipped to end customer
- Documents inspection results in reports, travelers and/or quality database
- Educate production team on quality control issues
Competency requirements:
- Proficient in the use of measuring tools
- MS Office products Experience
- Ability to read, write, and converse in English. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Desired (can train as needed):
- 2 years related experience within sheet metal manufacturing environment
- Experience with and working knowledge of ISO, AS standards and specifications.
- Quality training certified
- 5 years related experience within a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift forty pounds without assistance on occasions
- Must be able to sit, stand and move around continuously
