What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector - 2nd shift position at BUYERS PRODUCTS?
Buyers Products company, a leading manufacturer in the work truck industry, is searching for a Quality Technician to complement the skills and talents of our Quality Department.
2nd shift available
Primary Job Duties:
- Developing and maintaining company inspection reports.
- Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards.
- Ensuring goods and products comply with company standards as well as Federal and State law.
- Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
- Reporting quality anomalies to the supervisor.
- Collating test data and drafting quality reports, using Microsoft Office.
- Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
- Ensuring production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.
Skills/ Experience:
- Experience as an Inspection or quality technician.
- Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts.
- High-level of visual awareness.
- Advanced organizational skills.
- Experience drafting reports and collating data.
- Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Investigative skills – be able to investigate both dimensional / functional issues from a customer complaint.
- Be able to handle multiple projects at a given time.
- Mechanically inclined – be able to assemble various products using various hand tools.
- Able to use both digital and vernier type measuring equipment ie calipers, micrometer depth mics.
- Able to use and understand, 12–24-volt power supply and multimeter.
- Demonstrates strong self-motivation and the ability to take initiative in completing tasks and achieving goals independently.
Education Background:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Associate degree in any engineering discipline.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Standing, walking and sitting for extended period of times.
- Must be willing to operate lift trucks to retrieve parts in racking up-to 60 feet high.
- Mobility and dexterity to move around operating machinery and powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate power tools and vibrating equipment.
- Ability to work on site to physically support manufacturing requirements.
