26ft Box Truck Driver and Warehouse Parts Puller

Buy Wise Auto Parts is seeking one full-time employee that can drive a 26' Box Truck when needed and be a warehouse parts puller for pick/pack operation or put away in our Vauxhall / Union location when there are no deliveries.

This person is responsible for taking short deliveries for Large Stock Orders utilizing a Lift Gate with pallet Jack or Drum Jack to make deliveries and for stocking items on our shelves in a neat and orderly manner and picking orders for delivery. We only seek applicants that are career-minded, ready to grow.

You must be able to arrive ON TIME daily for your shift. Our shift is daytime hours from 8:00 am - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday, and Saturday from 8 AM to 3 PM. Must be able to work on Saturday. (you will have a day off Mon-Fri) The person must be able to lift a 75 lb carton. This person must be able to read and understand numbering systems, and correctly place items on the shelf in order. You must be detail-oriented. Neatness counts for us. Clean, safe, NO Cell Phone work environment, with many company benefits. Experience as a warehouse worker, knowledge of Bar Code Scanner a plus.

• This candidate must be able to work promptly, getting through all deliveries daily.
• This candidate does not load his vehicle, however, when making commercial deliveries, you will be required to handle the product using typical material handling equipment. Pallet Jack or Drum Jack and working the Lift Gate.
• This candidate must follow all company policies, procedures, and management direction, including all fleet and safety policies
• Ensures commercial products are delivered on time and in excellent condition
• Maintains a safe driving and working environment, including keeping the vehicle in clean condition.
• Ensure appropriate delivery documentation is generated and issued for each delivery, then appropriately filed at the Buy Wise Auto Parts location.
• Follows proper accident procedures
• Properly maintains the vehicle(s) and takes the necessary steps to report vehicle maintenance issues
• Ensures that assigned company vehicle is kept clean and presentable
• Handles cash transactions, charge transactions, and core/part returns per company policy and guidelines
• Inspects, protects, and maintains company assets, merchandise, and vehicles

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, load, and deliver the merchandise
• Ability to work the assigned schedule to meet our business needs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Buy Wise Auto Parts driving requirements.
• Submit and Pass a Drug Test, submit to a background check, and have a manageable driving record. Must provide Drivers Abstract Record from NJ Division of Motor Vehicles and a DOT card.
• Able to pass Random Drug Testing while employed
• Able to obtain a TWIC Card for Port entry
• 21 years or older

Salary: $18.00 per hour to start and an initial performance review in 30 days

Responsibilities and Duties

Expected duties will include but not limited to: Pulling Items for outgoing orders. Putting stock away in order. Loading battery trucks with replenishment inventory. Bring garbages outside to the dumpster. Shrinkwrap outgoing orders. Sweep the stock room area. Pull stock orders for other locations.
