Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver and Yard Worker, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient transportation and handling of freight. This energetic position combines professional driving with yard operations, offering an engaging environment for those who thrive on movement, logistics, and teamwork. You will be responsible for operating various types of trucks—including flatbeds and a couple with forklifts on the back. —while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise will help us deliver goods seamlessly across diverse routes and maintain the highest standards of cargo handling and vehicle safety.

Duties

• Safely operate commercial trucks, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines.
• Navigate over-the-road (OTR) routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across multiple locations.
• Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport.
• Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols.
• Manage vehicle inspections before and after trips to maintain compliance with safety standards; report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist with yard operations by organizing cargo, directing truck movements, and supporting logistics cargo handling activities.
• Load and unload trucks accurately, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety procedures during all phases of delivery driving and cargo management.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of vehicle operated (e.g., hazmat, tanker).
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across diverse terrains.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving.
• Experience with manual handling equipment such as forklifts is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills for managing logistics cargo handling, load & unload procedures, and route planning.
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety; previous experience in freight transportation is highly valued.
• Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks required for loading/unloading cargo; capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
