We are seeking a part-time licensed veterinary technician for our privately-owned, small animal practice in Tacoma, WA.
Button Veterinary Hospital is a well-established (est. 1920!), full-service, 4 FTE doctor small animal practice providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. We offer appointments for preventive care, medical cases, acupuncture, surgery, dentistry and urgent care. Because of our longevity, we have treated pets for 4 and 5 generations of families in the South Puget Sound! We provide care for dogs, cats, rabbits, and pocket pets.
Button Veterinary has an excellent reputation in the community for providing quality veterinary care to our patients and personal service to our clients. Our goal is to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and full-service veterinary health care. Our current open hours are Monday-Friday, 8-6, but those hours may change based on our client’s needs. We understand the importance of a work/life balance so we try to schedule staff and appointments so that staff is able leave within 0-15 minutes of their scheduled time off, although occasionally there is an exception due to the nature of the business.
We relocated to our current facility in January 2024 and have 2 surgical suites, a dental suite with a 2-patient capacity, a dedicated surgical prep area, as well as a new Class IV laser, an ultrasound, digital radiology and digital dental radiology.

Your responsibilities include those that are standard to a licensed veterinary technician. As a technician you are expected to work closely and communicate well with the doctors, assistants, practice manager and owner to help manage/delegate patient care efficiently as well as provide excellent client communication and education.
We offer a competitive hourly wage and an employee discount for personal pets as well as paid CE and paid days to attend. Minimum hourly wage of $24/hour but starting and ongoing wages are based on several factors, including experience and level of responsibility assigned.
